Our sustainability practices

Sustainability is a topic that is on everyone’s radar, as it should be.  It is the mindset of meeting the needs of today, while also implementing practices that protect our future & the future generations of tomorrow.  It can be summarized by 3 main pillars- Environment, Economic & Society.  It is the process of creating harmony between a productive society and nature.

How do we at M.E.P. Florida approach this concept?

We implement sustainable practices whenever we can. To reduce our carbon footprint, we try to order as much as we can locally.  Less travel, means less gas emissions spent, means a happier planet.  Our boxes we use for shipping are from a facility in North Miami, our labels are from a warehouse in Hialeah and our bottles for our 12oz format are from North Miami Beach.  Our 3L pouches are just that, pouches!  When our bags are empty they lay flat meaning their waste takes less space and they are recyclable. 

In terms of economic stability we invested in state of the art juicing equipment that helps us maximize our output while using a minimal amount of energy use.  We also plan to invest in equipment that cycles our waste output into compost, closing the circle and bringing us closer to a greener more holistic company.

Our sustainable practices do not stop with our equipment or our attention to our carbon emissions, we take our staff’s well-being into high account.  Our daily managing decisions impact our culture and therefore society.  We ensure our employees are afforded competitive pay, benefits and flexible schedules when needed.  We understand the happiness of our employees is key to creating a positive work environment and ultimately a sustainable culture.
